Testimonies
of those that have gone

  •

Tim Childers, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Sylacauga – “The pastors and their wives in Michigan were such a blessing to Debbie and me as we taught the Word of God.  They were hungry for encouragement, fellowship and truth.  There was such a freedom there to preach and teach.  I hope we are going to be able to go there again, but, next time with a group from our church!”   going

  • Trey Erwin, Student, Auburn University – “The country of Latvia is very unknown to many people, but the region that my team and I traveled to in Latvia is even more unknown and filled many blends of culture, religion, and history. We experienced first-hand the dynamic of cultural identity that exists there by meeting people in parks, volunteering at a youth center, playing sports at the lake, and camping in the countryside, all the while making friendships and gaining insight into the lives of Latvians and Russians alike in the city of Daugavpils. We captured as many moments as possible to share the gospel, sometimes in the form of short stories from the Bible told to a circle of youth, sometimes in a casual but meaningful conversation with a friend we made. We helped sow the seeds of the gospel in a place where the truth of God has never been fully revealed and where people are searching for something real to place their faith in.”

  • Donna Garner, Teacher, Florence – “I was privileged to be part of Woodmont Baptist Church's first ever Youth Foreign Mission Trip to Guatemala.  Our teenagers (and adults) will never be the same after ministering to the wonderful people in the villages around beautiful Lake Atitlan.  We were able to share the gospel, toothbrushes, toys, t-shirts, food baskets, puppet shows, and tons of smiles and hugs with over 1,400 Guatemalan children that week.  I'm not sure who God blessed more, them or us!"

  • Cynthia Hicks, Professor, Newville – “A strong calling that I have felt for some time has been to serve the Lord more fully through my profession. Our partnership with the Ukraine provided me with such an opportunity by working with mission educators. Lifestyle witnessing is at the heart of Christian service and what better way to exemplify this than by serving through our chosen professions. Being a part of the Ukraine partnership also strengthened my call to serve through my profession right where I work daily and to seek out opportunities to do just that. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as a part of the Ukraine partnership because it has helped me realize the opportunities that are all around in my daily life to serve the Lord more fully as a missions educator.”
